Frequently Asked Questions
Providing a GLBT-Friendly Market to Our Community
THE FIVE MYTHS ABOUT THE CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS BUSINESS COUNCIL

1. Do I have to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or trangendered to be a member of CMBC?
Absolutely not! CMBC membership is open to all businesses that want to be promoted as "Equality-Based." It means your business welcomes the GLBT community and that they will be treated fairly and respectfully.

2. What if I am gay but I don't want to be "outed"?
Your CMBC membership in NO WAY, identifies or promotes your sexual orientation. It just means you are committed to equality for the GLBT community!

3. Should I become a member even though I can't make it to the monthly networking nights?
Yes, you should be a member! You don't have to attend our networking events to be a member. We will promote you to the GLBT community through various channels such as our web site, at Worcester Gay Pride and in our advertising and marketing campaigns. Plus, we hold periodic networking events at our members' place of business to give you more chances to get connected!

4. Is the CMBC events a dating and social thing?
No! CMBC is a group of professional business people looking for ways to effective serve the GLBT community in central Massachusetts.

5. As a CMBC member, how active do I have to be?
As much or as little as you want. You can join our CORE committee and help out with our various projects or do nothing. It's up to you!
